Hi all,
wow here I am at last, should be ashamed of my self, havent been here for ages, but just had to get back to here to tell you the great news so you can take advantage of it.

Hi all, Happy New Year
here are two views of some lovely native flowers My Daughter, Jacqui, and Son in law, Keith, gave me, last week while they were here for a visit on my Birthday. Yes I've had a Birthday, another year older, but I still dont feel that old yet, may be I just never grew up!. Hope that is a good thing, as when age catches up to you and there is nowhere to go, its nice to feel still with it, and be interested in everything around you.
Which brings me to what is happening in Australia at the moment, particularly in my State, Queensland. The world has seen the terrible floods we are having, and the devastaion and how some peoples lives have been wrecked. My heart goes out to all of them. We in Mackay know what it is really like, as we had our floods in 2008, and it has taken a lot of time to get over that, even now some people will never have their lives back as they were before those happenings. Same for the people in those places south of here it will be a long time before things are anyway normal for them.
As the Premier of this state has said,
''We are Queenslanders and we will bounce back, we are strong and we will get up again".
.
If you go over to my Daughter Julias blog she explains it very well.
While there you will see that there are ways for us crafters to help other crafters who have lost everything.
One I have found and am getting to do something with is
Gumtree Designers
You will see there how we can all help .
I am so pleased to be able to do this and am on my way with my sewing buddies next week to make some of these Armchair Caddies for those brave crafters in Queensland .
This will be a short blog today as I am off to make a start .

SANTA RAGE

Hi all, well the great day is over for another year. We all had a great and wonderful time. wonderful food, great friends, laughs and sighs along the way.The pics of Santa was before and after disaster befell him. Will tell you about that later.First would like you to know about my fabulous Christmas dinner that I produced this year and shared with 3 lovely friends.

When I make out my Menu for my Christmas dinner it helps me to know what ingreds I need to have on hand,so when I went shopping this is the plan I had.

Entree
Salmon Salad
Lettuce, sliced advocado,Salmon portions,
Topped with Mayo dressing, Orange slices,Craisins, (Red Raisins)
Crystilised Ginger, ( Chopped)and Glaze Cherries.
Main Course.
Marinated Rosemary and Garlic Lamb Roast
Roast Potatoes,
Ginger and Honeyed Carrots,
Baby Green Peas,Roast Onions. Rosemary andTomato Bread Stuffing.
Gravy. Mint Sauce
Desserts.
Brandy Baskets with Port Wine Jelly set in, and Fruit Salad with extra
Strawberries ,Bananas,and Passion Fruit , Whipped Cream and Ice Cream
Casata Trifle, made with Sponge Fingers and Blueberries, with layers of
Brandy Custard and Cream, set like Ice cream in the freezer.
Christmas Pudding with Belgium Liquor Chocolate Centre.
Lit at the table
Brandy Custard and Cream
Nibbles
Large dish of Cashew nuts Crystilised Ginger
and chocolate covered nuts.
Wow , and it all came out well. We all loved it and it was a great meal.
Dont think I want to eat like that for another year.
Well as to poor old Santa.
One of the residents in my village here took a dislike to Santa's singing and bell ringing when he was outside on my decorated patio with my lights one night.
Unfortuantely I did not hear this man come onto my patio, (glad I didnt) as was told there was some expletive language going on. Well poor Santa got smashed and lost his batteries, and had a broken leg and a broken nose. Next day I found one battery in the front garden.
He was a sorry site.
This man who did this was a bit enebriated I was told, and wanted to sleep. It was only 8pm but there are some people who got to bed early around here so I DO ? understand. But SANTA, UGH !!!! How could any one do that.The nearest neighbours are all deaf and I knew they could not hear my Santa, so he was having a great time out there singing and jingling away. I did go out every 15mins or so to see if it was bothering anyone, but missed this one. You might say I missed all the fun. Anyway the outcome was, I did put Santa together again, albeit a bit worse for wear, ( Like Humpty Dumpty), and next night when we had a huge Christmas party in our common room and I walked in with Santa playing his tune everyone clapped and had a good laugh, because of course the whole episode had been spread around the complex.
Needless to say the person responsible did not go to the Christmas party.
I just feel sorry that he has a life like that, but some people you just cant help.
When I related this story to my Daughter she laughed so much, so we had a funny coversation and so we got a laugh out of it all.
So insead of starting World War Three,
Just laugh and sing like Santa for another Year
and hope the people who cant make it
find PEACE.

FINDING NEW THINGS

Hi all, A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU ALL.

The picture card above is a very nice Mixed Media/Painting/Collage, my daughter Julia has done and has on her blog. The baby is wrapped in a muslin cloth collaged on the page. I asked her permission to put it here on my blog as I think it is beautiful. She is a very talented lady , and you can see more of her work on her blog at

Julia is a Clinical Hypnotherapist, and has helped many people thru emotional times, so a look thru her blog is an inspiration, her art work and her philosophies are a treasure to see and to read thru.
I have shown her to you before, but as I loved her style so much, thought I would share it with you.
Well that time is creeping faster and faster towards us, only 3 sleeps to the big day so they say.
It will be quiet around here altho I am cooking A lovely Christmas dinner for 2 friends, so am busy preparing it all.
We all think what a big bustling time it, but when the day actually arrives, it is really a MAGICAL one and all worth it.
I feel sorry for people who cant be enthused by it all.
They are missing so much, and they dont even know they are, how sad.
It is the one day the WHOLE WORLD, STOPS and are thinking of the same thing, isnt that amazing.
Whatever your Religion or non religion is, that is the one thing that makes all our lives on this planet become one.
With the millions of people we dont know, how wonderful is that, that at this time in every time zone a Christmas day is being Celebrated.
Life is so short,
our own life span is so short,
why not enjoy all the celebrations that come our way.
I am enjoying it all and what with doing all the pressy thing as we do at this time and thinking of friends with us or away, it is so nice to feel good about everything.
In my last posts , I showed how I have been having fun putting up lights, have really gone all out this year, and just loved doing it.
Lights are so bright and calming and give atmosphere, so Im glad I did that.
I will be sad to have to put them away.
But I will have the memory of a
Happy Little Christmas
I gave myself and others too I hope.
So,

Hi all.

Here I am again. you may wonder what I am up to, but today seems to be a good day for me to be here. These are some pictures I took last night of my Xmas light decorations so far. If you can see the Angels in the first two pics this is what I made. I had some MDF board drew the shapes and painted the board, and had holes put in to take the lights which are just a small length of wire with a battery to run them. I just love these battery lights and have so far bought about half doz. I have them everywhere.

This is my nice Xmas. I can remember there were Xmases that I could not even feel like what it was meant to be, but now I am excited and am doing all this by my little lonesome and feeling so good about it.

Where I live, everyone this year is really doing a great job of putting up the lights.

Next time I will try to bring you some of the others around me.They are just great.

So have happy thoughts as they make the day.

Hi I'm back today, amazing!

I want to share my directions to the Xmas Decoration I showed you a picture of in the last post.

First I will try to put all the visuals of each step, I really dont know how others do this, so maybe some day some one will be able to help me with this aspect.

1. The first pic on the left refers to the materials I used.

three different pieces of nice Chrissy Materials in 3 diff patterens, Organza or Nylon here something that will flame as we will burn around the edges, no sewing here.

2.Second pic is of the pattern I made of the three diff sizes on deli paper, or what ever you have, so how to,....

Cut 3 squares. Sizes are 10x10,7x7,5x5 inches that is.

3. Next, fold your squares into half and half again. using a black marker pen freehand a flower like shape, no need to be too accurate as you do burn some of it off . Do the same for your 3 squares , can you see, it gets smaller as it goes.

Cut around your drawings, open them up and you should have the flower like shapes.

4. Using your three nice different coloured chrissy materials, cut one large, one med, and one small shape , one from each of the different materials.So, One large size, from first material, One med size, from next material, and One small size, from third material.

Now the fun begins !!

5. Using whatever you use for a flame,( I used a B/day candle) go carefully around all the edges of each piece.

While you do this I will leave you and come back in the next post with some more photos.

While having all this fun think of Xmas ,

great for some not so for some.

But as it is a meaningful time of year,

think also of what it really means.

A time for giving and loving

and for the memory of Jesus that drives all our lives.

Hi well here I am again. Meant to get here in Nov, but time just gets away.
at the moment I am gearing up for Xmas and have been putting up decorations and making some, so have been very busy.
I want to show you something I made for our last for the year, doll sewing workshop.
Not really doing dolls so much now, but a lot of other nice things.
The first pic here is of my lovely flowers I was given recently when I went to an Afternoon for a good cause. I love flowers and this pic now resides on my desktop. Think somewhere I have an even better one of them. However the next pic you see is of a Xmas deco I made for the last day of our sewing group.
Made 8 of them and am about to make more.
I will put photos and directions in here as soon as I can, but now I am off to finish off some Angels I am making for my Xmas display with lights. Just wait til I get back here very soon.

Life is a play, played out by you,
it is what ever you make it,
whether it be a
Comedy
or a Tragedy,
or even a Romantic interlude.

Just so it is what you want it to be.

Hi there here are some more pics while I am here.

The first 2 are some flats I bought at the Spinners and Weavers as there were people there doing Patchwork as well, and selling materials so I could'nt resist these 2 pieces. I love the colours. the Owls are unusual I think, and the African ladies are scrumptious too.

The little felt bear is what we made after being shown by our Ailsa.He is unfinshed bye the way., only 3 legs LOL. I like to do so many things. I think we can learn so much every day, and I love doing the rounds of the Blogs, everyone I go to is so talented and it really makes my day, when I can eye candy and just drool , like Susan's paintings and Marie's Poly lessons

and of course my true love, Cindy, the Polymer Clay Tutor, who has taught me so much.

In a world where things can go good or bad in the blink of an eye, I count myself very blessed by the Universe to be still here, choosing what I can and cant do day by day.
One thing I wish, is that I could help and inspire others ,like I am inspired by those I follow.
I try to keep an open mind and explore where I havent been,
Finding New Things as I go.
At the moment I am trying to break bad habits, re sitting in front of television, thinking what can I eat next LOL , yes I have a problem. I was told by my Hypnotherapist Daughter, Julia, (click on her name)when the urge comes to get up and raid the fridge, clap my hands loudly and the urge may go away. Sure it may come back, but keep doing it til it fades away,. I know I will be better for it
I do hope
Julia wont mind me putting that little bit of advise here.
If we who have this problem, try it ,wont we be all slimmer by Christmas, or at least broken a bad habit, how wonderful!!!.
Well speaking of food and TV that's where I am off to now LOL LOL LOL
What a laugh.ROFLOL.
But I will improve I promise.

Hello Again,

Felting.

Yes my friends and I have taken a liking to Felting of late.

We have done it before, and once did a class with Jenny Romano, where we made Felt Bags and animals, so it is not that new to us.

I recently went to a Spinners and Weavers Retreat,but only for the day. It was for 3 days, but more for spinners and weavers. you could watch or join in what was going on.

We watched felt flowers being don, and were going to join in, in the avo, but got sidetracted with so much going on.

We also watched a wool dyeing process and was fascinated enough to buy some neutral hanks to dye.

Also bought some already dyed wool from which I have done some work.

So here goes to show you all the pics from that outing.

The first pic on left is the Felt flowers we saw being made. Not my work,but so morish I have always wanted to try this.

So the lower pic is the Felt flower I made from the wool I bought. It does have 3 different colour layers. The pic on the right at the top is the hank of dyed wool I bought. My pics always seem to move around so hope you can see what I mean.

Also want to show you the blank wool for dyeing and maybe find the bag we once did with Jenny Romano.

So hold tight I'll try to come back today.

Hello, Hello, Hello., I sound like that man on that funny English series.
I am so glad I am here to say Hello to everyone who follows this blog.
I won't bore you with reasons why I havent been here in a month.
You may know my short coming anyway. I have a really free day today and no more excuses for putting off this blogging.So I thought I would show you some of my Parchment Cards. I have a group doing this every Thursday ,and have acquired a lot of friends still making beautiful cards that I taught them in the last 12 years. Whew where does all the time go.!! Above are some of the cards I have produced over the years. Parchment Card making is done on A light parchment paper called Vellum , tracing a design in a white Gel pen, and then Embossing on the wrong side with an embossing tool. A tool like a pencil with a small round ball on the end. Also using special tools to cut fancy holes in the parchment.The design then comes out white on the right side where you have embossed.
Patience is needed and attention to detail.
They are mostly done as white embossed, but can have some colour too.I don't like stickers on a card, but embossing and designing these cards are the top of the range in card making.
Well thats all I'll bore you with about that, except to say, I can make a beautiful card whenever I want one.

The left one is cards I have done with parchment, the middle one is cards my D, Julia who does, hand drawn faces and collage back grounds, she sells these on E Bay. They are wonderful and the little girl faces are so poignant. The two on the right are the type of card I teach with using a Cotton Bud as a brush., and this card is laminated. Julias blog can be seen by clicking on her name on the right under Creative Others
I think if you click on the pictures you will get a better view, don't think Julia's do come up tho.
So away to look and have fun if you are a card maker.

Hi all, well don't faint here I am, yes that's me, recently, at one of our dolly day sewing group days. We always have lots of fun so I am looking very happy here.

We all show each other something we know and it makes for good comeradeship.

Shirley is our doll pattern expert, with her patterns being sold on Joggers and elsewhere.

Rita is our computer expert, and we need her, for lots of questions. Jey is our Ocupational therapist, and is so talented with her original hand bags and so many original dolls.

Christine, a great doll maker and sewer, is taking time off to get right from a broken arm she suffered one night when she got up in the dark and fell in the passage, not good, but is coming right slowly. Mary comes along every month with so much work that she has done , like a wonderful patchwork quilt which take me years, she does from one month to the next, and a lot of small things in between. Me I just follow along and am in awe of these talented friends I have. All their photos can be seen in 2 posts back.

I feel so lucky to know them.

My work is mainly Polymer clay these days.

I follow Cindy Lietz the polymer clay tutor from Canada,who sends out a Video tutorial on Polymer Clay every Friday. They only Cost $9 95 US. for 3mths worth, which means 12 videos for $9 95 US. not bad.

Click on Cindy's name to see a preview of this weeks Tutorial, I cant wait til Friday, Of course there are so many tutorials on the Internet paid or free , but I still like being one of Cindy's gals as the cameraderie of all the other students around her is really fun. We now have a Face book page dedicated to all the project photos stemming from the tutorials , and it is so great to see all the wonderful original pieces that come from these tutorials. Cindy must be glowing from all the gals she has meet and taught thru her site.

I can feel a small amount how she feels as when I teach some one about what I know and they take it and run with it it is a great feeling, that you have given someone something they can use, especially when they really come up with some of the most original ideas from what they are taught.

Acrylic painting, using things other than just brushes ie: cotton buds , they are great, give such swishy non uniform lines. Will find a card to show you this one day.

Now my passion is Polymer Clay. That is where my time goes at present, in fact it has taken over my life at the moment.

I have also been to many workshops for,

Doll making

Free Machine sewing.

Bead stringing.

Wire wrapping, and many other things,

all with well known teachers,

so I feel lucky and blessed that I have had all the time to do these things and I pass them on where I can, as I think ,why have all that knowledge without leaving it for someone else to learn.

Of course there are my very talented daughters so , if you look to the right and go to their sites you will see some great works.

This beautiful vine on my patio looked so wonderful yesterday on a brilliant winters day I just had to take it's picture. We have had next to no winter this year, with brilliant blue skies. and never cold.
Only a month to go to Spring. How time flies, just like those Butterflies of mine who live in this vine.
I walk past this lovely plant each day and know how blessed I am
. The Butterflies come to play and stay on this lovely vine.They are a brilliant blue and black.
I might get to take a picture of one next time, but I know they are there.
today is another brilliant blue sky day in the Tropics.
So my Butterflies, stay and play in my beautiful pink vine.
While you are there all's right in my world.

Time flies when you are having fun so they say.

I do have fun while surfing on everyone elses blogs so dont get time for my own. think I have said that before.Here I am at last.

We have a Doll Club once a month and last month we all had such a great time we decided to do it again the next week at Jey's place. It all went so well, and these are some of the photos. Jey was an Occupational Therapist in the hospitals so hence her great love of every type of craft, and her huge workroom. We have some very clever and talented gals in our group.

Shirley G. Is now making and selling here own doll patterns on Dollmakers journey.
Shirl is amazing as 7yrs ago she did not sew, and has come a long way.

Her dolls have won prizes every year in our local craft show, plus other shows when she goes away with them.To be able to make your own patterns that is an acheivement.

Hi all, looks like there are changes to how we blog.
I thought I had lost mine ,but here it is in a new template.
This is only a start to get back in. A dear friend of mine put me on the right track. told me that some blog templates are being charged for and that was why mine went off.
Not really happy here but will now go find a new template.
Have you had this experience and what have you done abou it?.
I think my Butterflies have flown off forever and I am very sad about that.

How lovely this is, always Finding new things to admire in this world.

I looked out my front door recently and this is what I saw. Click to see larger.

A lovely sunset, over the top of the houses over the road from me, here in the complex where I live. God was out there with a paint brush wasnt He, or perhaps the butterflies passed by on their way to sleep and left this beautiful trail.

Anyway I was so lucky to see it. It certainly was very pretty, as it doesnt always happen, when I am looking out.

This week I have been making these articles above, from a Tutorial that I got Last Friday from my Cindy Lietz Videos, on making a Butterfly wing Cane. See first pic above. Just what I wanted to do, so here is my this week effort. As you can see above I have made a butterfly necklace and ear rings from the Butterfly wing cane that is the small cane lower right.

If you would like to see how to do this why not look on Cindy's site to see how to join, like I did. I have had so much fun there and the interaction with all the other gals there is what makes my day.

Evening Bags I have made, done with acrylic paints, Puff paints, glitter, beading and formed material.
The black and white flowers are white puff paints and Glitter, The orange flowers are stenciled over brushed on acrylics and enhanced with glitter edges. The purple was machined material over painted, and puffed, using a heat gun to make the textured material,enhanced with beading and silver ribbon. Click on all pics to see larger versions.

I have also done felted and material bags, and have at the moment a WIP on an evening bag made from machine embroidered pieces with a lot of hand sewing and beading .Will show these in the next post.

I have put these in here , as I was looking at another blog of ladies I know who do such fun work and saw one of their bags I loved. Hope they get to see my efforts.The blog I am refering to is ,one of my D's, Julia

Hi , well I am excelling myself.I have just done these two bracelets, from a Tutorial
by Cindy Lietz, from only last Friday. that I think is the quickest Ive ever done anything I have seen on the Tutorials.
Just got so interested in the method. So easy and quick to do , and lots of potential.

I said I would be back with a whole new outlook once my eye Ops were done, and now I know I can. I feel like I have a renewed shiny life.
So Life is Good to me and I hope others are having such a happy time as me.
Had a hicup yesterday,tho.
Found a snake crawling on my laundry window. I've never ever seen one so near my home, and was so unerved by it .
I did get rid of it, sent it packing with a broom, so dont think I wll see it again, altho I am still very wary when I step outside.
Some people like snakes and all those crawly unwanted things but not me sad to say.
On my friend Rita's, blog recently she posted some pics of our last meeting. We had a lovely time and the first pic there is of one of the ladies Jey, she is so talented with a needle and her Scrapbooking is so proffesional you'd wonder how she does it all. There are also pics of myself, not good but passable .
We are so lucky to have so many multi talented and precious friends in our groups here , and I feel very blessed to know them all.
So I must away to keep up the good work now that I am refreshed and motivated

This is a necklace I made just before I had my eye operations.

from a tutorial I saw on Polymer clay web.

The pieces are placed on the base bead painted side down. When baked the colour shines thru the translucent giving a soft effect.

I'm Back

Wow have I been away from here for such a long time, so long over 2 mnths, that's long to me.

So much so that I wonder if any of my blogger friends are still out there and even a little bit interested in me or what and why I have been so long away.

If you read the last post, you would see that in April, I was going to start to have Cateracts taken off both my eyes.

All is now done and I am over the moon with the results.I can't believe what I see now.

Smartie me thought I could see before the Ops, and really wasn't interested in the Doctor talk, but now that the problems are all solved, I thank God for great eye Surgeons and such care they took of me.

I am blessed in the way all has come right for me.

Talk about Finding New things, it is as if the world has been cleaned and is all new and bright and shiny again, and I cant believe what I am seeing.

I dont need distance glasses anymore and have 20/20 vision, so all my eye troubles were really the Cateracts, which are now gone and made a new ME !!

Of course there is a funny side, while now I can see beautifully, I can also see all the spots and smudges around my house and am forever dabbing and cleaning them off . Soon tho I won't need to do that, as I am able to do more cleaning now as I go and am laughing at myself.

Wonder what my friends ever thought ,when they visited. I always thought I had a clean house. LOL I think I did have, but now it will be even cleaner and I like clean.

Of course I missed a lot of things for this last 2 months and mainly I missd my Polymer Clay Video Lessons with Cindy Lietz, so I have a lot to catch up with.

I could see with one eye before both were done but until they were both done and healed it was a bit hairy at times. specially when I tried to type things in here.

In a new concept Cindys gals are putting their work on their own Blogs or sites and linking them so they can be seen easier. I like this idea and it takes a load away from our tutor Cindy, so that she can concentrate on her beaut lessons.I will be putting my efforts here are soon as possible to catch up.

If you want to see some of the other students works go to the Cindy site and scroll thru it. It is amazing.

So now that at last I have alighted like my Butterfly friends, I'll take off and go do some Poly clay work and bring it back here even better that before.

Hi, it is a month no less since I found myself here.
Where has the time gone ? and why have I not felt the urge to be here?
I don't really have the answer to that last question.
I have been busy and lots to do and have been in to read the great blogs that I follow, but never actually made it to this page. But here I am .
Am I in need of Inspiration, yes maybe thats it.
A friend sent me a very good newsletter by Tory Hughes, a Polymer clay Artist and Teacher

I also had the pleasure of meeting up with two of the bloggers I follow Amanda,and Lulubelle, ( in my followers as, Cloth doll lover, and Lulubelles Creative Studios) lovely sites,they are sisters and daughters of anothe blogger friend Rita, what a talented family, when they came to Mackay where I live, recently. What a pleasure to be able to actually meet up in person. don't you think that make the world seem smaller.
This is the only blog I will be able to do for sometime, as I will be going away to see my Daughter and Gran kids for 2 weeks and then when I come back will be going into the unknown world of having my Cateracts done in April and May. I will of course be twice as prolifiic after all that and have lots more to see and say.

Hi, just so you can see I have been working and not shirking while I havent been here
That's not to say I should have been doing more.
The first lefthand pic,(click for better view) is a mix of all the things I have made in preparation of my Cindy lessons, plus at the top a few square canes I have done recently. Maybe make earings from these canes.
The butterflies are just medalions, made with squished Torn Water colour clay. I might wire these
The middle things in the first frame are of Faux bone, from Cindys lesson on Faux Bone. I like this, and intend to do more
The small round and small cuts of chips, in the same first frame, pearlex covered pieces are to use in the embellishments in the Inlay pendants that Cindy taught us.
The middle pic is not of the Paper I made from a Beryl Talyor DVD(it has moved as it was published, so reverse next two pics, and you will understand) I was lucky enough to see on our Doll Group day . One of our very talented ladies had sent away for the DVD, It is of Blending paper, fabric, and embellishments.
This is really my first love, paint and altering paper and fabric. Like ATC's and Fabric post cards.
The first piece on the left is a calico(muslin to some) painted with Lumiere paints and embossing powder and heat gunned to give a tex surface. The one on the right in reversed middle pic is done same way but with watered down Acrylic, and a small amout of black puff paint, again heat gunned to bring up the puff paint. not much on as using from an old bottle ,next time will have a better puff paint bottle.
Ah!! the pic at the bottom is something I have devised. We are about to make
Faux Opal with polymer clay so,not having any of the right glitter for the inclusion
Improvisation needed here.
I have Pinata inked, silver mettalic cellophane, in the colours I wanted, and am cutting them up into vey small confetti like pieces. time and patience needed here, but I'll get there. The top pic is of the conffetilike cut pieces of mettalic cello.
Has anyone ever done it like this?. I dont know?
Those Pinata inks are just amazing. They are like the Adirondak inks, work well on anything metal like, so why not the mettalic cello
So you see I am having fun all round.
I can Soar away here all on my own and reach the achievements I aim at.

Hi all, well today is March 1st, at least to me, so I thought I had better start the month off right and be here. This is the start of Autumn today here (Fall ) to some others.Our beautiful Summer is almost over.

We still will have very hot and humid weather til end of April, and so far this season have not seen anything of our Cyclone season, altho have had so much rain, enough to break the bank, but luckily no flooding. Do you remember 2 years ago we were flooded out? Anything other than sprinkles now brings us all out in a frenzy of, no not again. We here are all of the thought, it was a once in a lifetime experience and of course now know what to do if it was to pop up again.

We had been warned about flooding, a few times this season, so much so last week , I put as much as I could up off the floor in my craft room, because that day we had a severe flood warning as it had been raining for days. It did not arrive and needless to say things got left where they were for the rest of the week. Oh that craft room will you ever stay tidy?!! Even canceled going out as thought streams might get flooded and I wouldnt get back. But again all's well there at the moment.

The pic above it of Kaleidoscope canes I have just learnt through my Cindy Videos. Not as precise as I would like, but now that I have the formula I can improve

As they say there is always room for improvement, and when I take something on I feel that and know I am going to improve. Practise makes perfect as you know, and of course were there's a will there's a way comes into it too. So thats me, with my try try again attitude.

Yes Attitude, I heard today some one said, Attitude with Grattitude.

That sayings probably been around for a long time, but has just sunk into my sphere of comprehension, Ho Hum for some of us. I looked up the word Attitude in my very small not every word in it, dictionary,, and found it can mean a lot of different things.

1 A way of thinking and behaving.

2 Posture of the body

3 Informal hostile manner.

Thats a nice saying though, for it says, be grateful for your attitude.

Now some people's attitude does not do them justice, and they fall by the wayside in their hostile manner, so step it up, get a better attitude and be grateful for all the nice things around you. Have a great attitude and you will find everything around you falls into place and you will be happier. Little things won't seem to mean so much, but yet other things will be nicer

Mmm there I go again.

I see so many people who cant let things go ,when they really shouldnt have these things crowding the brain.

At least here with all these talented and creative people in these blogs we dont get time to dwell on the negatives, at least I dont.

Life's hard but it's meant to try

There's another thing,why are we here?, well I think it is to learn lessons to help us in our next life.

Wonder what I will be in my next life and what was I in my last?!!.

According to the lessons I have learnt in this one, I must have been under a stone in my last life LOL!!!, so now when, or if I have another life to go to, I will have all this great knowledge to take with me. I sure will know about Kaleidoscope Canes by then LOL.

Just get above it and lift your head and smile

and as I say, Soar with the butterflies.

Hi, here are some more looks at my work room.

Some before the clean up.

We had a Symposium in 05 I think. With, Susie Oneil Aus, Sherry Goshon U.S., Marilyn Halcombe Aus, Gloria WinnerU.S., and the co ordinator Dawn Okeefe AUS,

here at the Sunshine Coast in Queensland. I am lucky enough to have been able to be at workshops with these great teachers.

When I look back over the last 6 yrs. I know I have been taught by the best. and feel very blessed and inspired by them and what I have acheived.

In the same pic right in the middle is a head of a grey haired lady (some say she looks like me)and dont your dolls faces do sometimes have a likeness to self LOL.

This was the first pin doll I did for a comp in a workshop when I went to Sydney Aus, in 04,Wkshop was with Patti Culea, I had no idea of sculpting faces or beading as I had only been at it for a few months,, but as I always said, I try.

Now as one thing leads to another, Polymer Clay has taken my fancy, and I am still making a mess in my craft room. here's to the next tidy up,when I'll

Find New Things to talk about and reminise about.

So theres always something to keep one interested and happy , and forging ahead.

The great tidy up of the Craft room is done. Hurrah!

Hi All,Wow, can you believe it,

here I am again 3 times in one day.

Just making up for my Lackadaizical time Ive been having over the holidays.

I had to look that word up, seeing I did not know how to spell it, so maybe Im not as lackadaizical as I think, LOL.

These, as you can see are pics of my Craft /ala sometimes Bedroom where I spend a lot of my time, not that it is always as tidy as when I get in there and get working and then have to leave it, and never seem to get back to it, well you know what I mean. Plus everytime I'm on a project, I find I have stuff (equipement) all over the house as well.

I'm glad I got to it, it always makes me feel better when I can start off again with everything in its place.

I know there are people who never mind how their surroundings look, but I have never been like that and can only stand it for so long.

A true artist is one who works from the heart, doesnt see what's around them, thinking of the art first. But NO I have to have everything tidy behind me, then do my art/ craft. Funny that.

So here's to another year of fun and craft and blogs and meeting new people

and Finding New Things.

Hi all, well don't faint, I have found my way back here.

As my title says Finding New Things is my passion, and so that is where I always am. Blogging into every other blog that I know of, Nosy me!, but I find some wonderful and amazing things. People are so clever and original, makes me wonder if I should just stick to reading about it all and no do LOL. Still I have to do my 2 cents worth and try. Sometimes I succeed and some times I dont.

We should not get dishearted, just move on. The more you do a thing , the more you improve.

Like when I watch my Cindy Leitz Videos.

Once a week I receive a Polymer Clay lesson Tutorial, from Cindy.

I have a go at making what is there, some times it goes well, sometimes no.

Nothing to do with Cindy as her teaching and clarity of techniques and simple instructions are so good, anyone would be able to follow.

Mainly, I get there, sometimes need to put a bit more effort into it.

So that is what I mean by, the more you try the more you improve.

Above is a picture of my effort fr0m the latest video lesson, An Interchangeable Pendant, good for using up all the odd (ODD?!!) beads you may have around.

As I am not a wire person, I did find this stretched my capablities, but with determination and sitting and doing it I feel I got there, and like my efforts,so

never be disheartened

by what you do, or dont do, its bound to come out well in the end,and there is always a use for it, especially in Polymer clay.

Hi all, here I am for another day in my blog
Amazing I am here so soon again.
Well soon for me.
I was blogging around, which I like to do, and came across one blog I follow. who had just put in pics of some lovely Hydrangeas she had. I love Hydrangeas and all the colours they come in, so here is a pic I keep in my craft room.
It may not be as good as the ones seen on that blog, but they remind me of all the lovely Hydrangeas I have seen in my life time.
Flowers to me are great healers, and give great joy, and it is a marvel to me how they all come about.
When you see some colours and styles and shapes you can only marvel at the how and the why of flowers
Lifes a bit like that too.
When we know what we have done and seen, and been thru in life, we can only marvel at the how and why of it too.
Lives that have been so tragic and unyeilding, for people who have either been in such pain or lost loved ones or even been thru bad experiences to be able to come out the other side and learn to live a fulfilling and positve life is like the flowers a blossoming, only to be marveled at .
Yes Flowers are so positve.
You see a very small flower putting its head up between the cracks on a road or amongst the weeds. that is how I see life.
I too have had my bad experiences and when I look back see only that it all enhanced my character as to where I am today.
Those experiences will always be with us , but it is whether or not we rise above them all and go on to live a happy and creative life is whether we win, or the demons do.
So I have learnt to be very positive and put my head up thru the cracks and
Soar above it all ,
like a beautiful flower
basking in the sun.
Hey thats me, LOL basking in the Sunlight of my life. You can do that too.
Let all the demons go, and be positve like the flowers.
Lifes like that too, it will drag you down or elevate you.
The choice is yours
So everyone, I hope I am not sounding too much like a sermon, dont mean to. just want you to see what I see in life and try hard not to let it get to you.
Think of the flowers and the butterflies, how they show their glorious colours and styles, and Soar away to a great positive New Year

Hi all

HAPPY NEW YEAR

I am lagging behind by not starting my blogging as quickly as some others.
Of course I have been reading all the great things that have been said and done already for the New Year even tho it is only a few days old.
I did have a lovely Christmas time when all went as planned. That is what I like.
when I say I am going to do something and it comes off as planned.
The flower pics are what I brought myself on my B/Day. One pic in my lounge to look at in the daytime and one pic when I took them into my B/room, to wake up to see them.
They put a smile on my face. I love yellow flowers, and to be able to buy yourself some lovely flowers is always a good thing, I think! You can click on to enlarge, you may even smell them, the power of suggestion is at home here!!
Yes I had one of those already this year, a B/Day, so on I go on the wrong end of the 70's , I cant believe it. No, maybe it is the good side, as I'm still here, in great health, and skitting around still wanting know and learn, taking great interest in everything I see on the Internet, a wonderful place to play.! Never lonely or bored with this G/Ma's Toy.!!
Kiddies have their dolls and fireengines I have my computer and computer friends ,
so life is good.
Now you know, and I'm sure you 'll give me some leaway when I make mistakes LOL, as I do have those Senior moments too!!
I am happy with my age, because you can look back on great memories, and great mistakes ?, We all make those, wouldn't be human if we didn't, but it is when we can acknowledge those mistakes and learn from them and go on to be able to live a nice life, have compassion for others, do good things and help where help is needed with grace and kindness.
I think Kindness to others is what the world needs so much of. Here in blogland we find that all the time., when we read a post and support others and when others support us and we know we are not alone. "No man is an Island" so they say and it is so true.
We all need support, and so when you have a problem it is better shared,
Another saying, "A problem shared is a problem halved"
So don't keep things to yourself.
We are all here for you.
So it is back to business for another year.A few things have popped their heads up already, and altho I havent got anything finished , I am working on some things.
Firstly am trying to keep my craft room tidy!"oh yes you may say", a great resolution, as I can get very untidy, and don't have to keep to this Res, as we never do, do we.
So that's what I like to make Resolutions I know I cant keep LOl, Funny!!!
I am awestruck by the people who have already done so much from day one of this year.
I can only conclude that if you are in a cold climate it is easier to work in, than when you live in a very warm climate, which makes you lethargic and more about sitting around waiting for the heat to break and not feeling like work.
Ah well there's always another day.
But with those B/day seeming even closer maybe not as many as you'd like Lol!

I'm trying

Here are my latest book beads, First on the left are the completed ones , the centre pic is the cane one is made from, and on the right is the back of the little books. they are only about an inch square so you see are small and dainty.
Well as now is a busy time and each day is getting closer to that fabulous time Christmas I have to go and get on with it.
So many people say they dont like Christmas and that it is all a big humbug, just like Scrooge said. Bur think of it, yes it is a chaotic time, but when the day is actually here it's all worth it.
It is a magical time, whether you take the religeous meaning of it or whether it is a time for family and giving, and that is what I like best of all ,the Giving , giving of your self as to making a lovely time for family or just sitting on your own giving yourself a holiday and being able to sit and contemplate what a year it has been. This year I am lucky enough to have a D and a G/ D visit me So what a time we will have. My D has not been here in 6years so am a lucky little elf. My other family will see me next year when I go to them for my G/G Sons 1st Birthday. so what a lot I have to look forward to I am a lucky lady.
I'm sure you will all find your lucky time now it is nearly Christmas, and if not think of all the world where we are so lucky to be part of, and free to be who we are.

Hi all dont faint here I am,have been thinking about this for weeks but never seem to find the time to be here. thanks to all the good followers who think enough of my blog to take a look.

Like all ,at the moment for me the days up to Christmas are just rushing by and I cant seem to get enough done .

The picture above is of some of us at our doll club. I "pinched" this pic off another site Dollycloth my friend Rita who is a member and is always full of fun and of course the best Quilter and doll maker you ever could see.

Her blog is in the list at the side of this blog DOLLYCLOTH like I said.

BTW she's not in this pic having taken it of course, but that is me in the red on the left.

We had a lovely party that day, no work got done of course.

But all is not lost, I have been following my Cindy Videos and here is what I have come up with of late. I have made more little bead books as Cindy calls them. In fact I cant stop making them and they are becoming real little keepsakes for my friends. so here is some more. Made differently this time with canes I have made with the Extruder.

here is some things I have been doing from my Cindy Videos.
Two are the Christmas necklaces, and one is a Bell Christmas tree decoration
I have yet to finish, and one is a small pendant that is ready to string.
These lovely ideas are from my Cindy Videos
They are finished off by polishing with denim after lots of sanding of the clay.
I sometimes use varnish, but found this method suited these things. hope you like.
So I am going back to work on my Book beads and will see you here later.

Hi all who come here.
just something to drool over.No I did not make it, but indulged myself for a special occasion of a Red Hat lucheon.
Of course I can always say it is an early Christmas Present, or a late or early Birthday present,but whatever I love it and it is all mine.
It is made of Red satin, and the little red flower on the handle is a brooch which can be worn on a hat or dress, so I got a little bonus with that.
I have also been making my Christmas polymer clay necklaces and titbits here too.

Finding New Things.

There's always time to stop and "Smell the Roses" so they say.
We all have such full lives that we forget to sit still and just enjoy our time to do this. I always say there is not enough time in the day,well maybe there isn't as we try to cram one hundred and one things into a normal day, but why do we do it?
Are we afraid to just sit?
I have always been one to make very good use of my time and have gone from one thing to the next, just as the norm. So I was just thinking about this and have come to the conclusion that I am a very lucky person health wise, daily living wise and mentally wise, altho maybe I only think I am mentally OK!!! LOL What !!!!
So, I am taking stock of myself and really not going to put too much on myself from now on. Dont know how that sounds to any one else. I think I am meaning to say, I am not going to feel guilty about whether I should have done this or that by this or that time. Thinking of course of all those UFO's among other things that dont get done around here LOL!!! they'll still get done. As they say there is always tomorrow, but knowing for some poor souls there is not always tomorrow.So that is why I feel so lucky in the life I have, and resolve to be even better at living it.Which means in my book ,be really positve in the things you can be, and dont worry about the things you cant be. No more useless thoughts that dont help the day. Do you know that Stress leads to more illnesses that anything else, and if we did not let all the unwanted stressful things creep in we would be so much better, so let it all go, and then there will be time to just sit and Smell the Roses.XX

Books are like people,when they are open they are always interesting, when they are closed it is like a little mystery parcel waiting to be explored. These little books are a perfect metaphor for your friendships, eveyone is always a bit closed but still waiting to be opened up by new friendships to reveal more of themselves. this is what keeps a friendship from waning as there is always still so much to learn from each other.

I loved this, dont know if she actually wrote this or whether it has been heard of before, but whatever it is a nice compliment to my little Cindy books so I will keep making them and give them to my friends with Jacquis words in mind.

OK followers here I am at last, you all know where I have been, yes , around the world and back again, courtesy of some marvellous Blogs.

I am starting to get fidgety as it is nearing that time again, you know

The Silly Season, when we all go all out to produce a never to be forgotten time, called Christmas. Of course out come all the fav recipes and so I thought before it all gets so hectic that I dont know which day it is, I'd let you into a little secret one of mine.

See this picture, it looks just like the usual Rum balls we all scoff too many of, so to make them in a way that I dont feel Guilty about them, here is my 1 carb favorite recipe for them. BTW thats the secret the 1 carb.

Think it came from a Low Carb website when I was trying to adhere to that sort of philosophy. I still do in a way.

Now here we go.

Rum Balls for a guiltless sweety!

---------------------------------------------

1 cup Almond Meal

1/2 cup Cocoa powder

2 tspns Butter (softened)

2 tbspns Powdered Erythritol, Xylitol ( from the Health Shops)

or other sugar Substitute. ( Not Aspartame derivitives)

1/2 tspn Vanilla essence

2 Tbspns Rum according to taste ( thats the good part) Hic!!

1/2 cup artificial Sweetener ( I use Splenda)

( Here I mix the Erythritol with the Rum to dissolve, as a bit gritty if just mixed in,)

Mix all ingredients.

Add Vanilla + Rum Can add a small amount water if needed.

( No more than 3 tbspns) Can add dried fruits or nuts if liked.

Roll into balls.

Roll in crushed nuts or Shredded Coconut.

Place in freezer till needed .

Makes Approx 17. Exactly 1 Carbohydrate.

Enjoy. !!

The key ingredient is the Almond Meal as it is not as fattening as the usual crushed biscuits that these are usually made with. Not to mention condensed milk

Well that's that. been meaning to do that for awhile but had to wait til I made some, so you can see what will be happening now, I'm taking a march on Christmas and having a bit of a time for myself right now with these Rum Balls Yum!

Having said that I went out to a morning tea with some friends on Sunday for homemade Scones and Jam And Cream. now that was naughty, but nice. The Tea house is out at the beach and is an old Railway Station house converted, but has all the old fixtures around very interesting and beautiful peaceful gardens all round.

Also I was enthralled to see the Ulysses Butterfly soaring away in absolute sunny grandeur in the wild like that. I have never seen one on the wing so to speak so was so happy.They are so beautiful and really a glorious brilliant foil blue with black wing tips. They are the Emblem of Queensland ,so quite appropriate to see them here. Look at my next blog for info on them. Of course in that theatre of natural bushland as it was, what else would you see but the Kookaburras of Australia, sunning themselves, sleeping on the ground( it is a National park with no predators) with their tummies held up to the sun., and resting in the trees. So natural so nature. Click on My Picasa on the right, and you will see my pics of the kookaburras as well as the girls and me.

Everywhere I go I see the beauty in all things natural and thank my Guardian Angels that I am able to do and see and even be able to be here to pass on and hopefully make someones day brighter. That is what I get from looking at all the wonderful blogs from around the world. Thank you to whoever thought of blogging, it is so informative and entertaining and a great way of everyone expressing their thoughts and I appreciate that others do this , it makes the World seem so compact so much so that you feel you could just reach out and touch the blogger you are looking at.
So on a Sunny Sunday when I was out in the bushland, blogging was not far from my mind as to be able to put this content in here. I hope you enjoyed my blog.

Hi all, or anyone who likes to blog.
Well here I am again. these are some Polymer clay Butterfly wings I have recently made folowing a Cindy Leitz Video.

, Jeez it takes me so long to get back here. I love looking at all the other blogs that I know, and of course I am always finding new things on them, so when I start off my day to blog, I find myself elsewhere and never where I should be!! Here !! LOL!!!
They, say nothing is new in the world, and they maybe right, but I can still always find something new to muse about.
Maybe thats just me, as I dont know everything LOL, and so its new to me what ever it is LOL again.
So what have I found today that has taken me away from where I should be and tranported me to another place to muse and have fun.
First I was looking at sewing machines, but no that didnt hold my interest, then I found, Mrs Art Doll Maker, and her look at Clip art and what a revelation. Wow if you want to find clipart this gal has got it, as well as a great blog.

Hi all, Its Strawberry time here and today I got a packet with the Biggest one I have ever seen. Just had to take a picture of it before I gulped it. It was at least 3inches across and nearly an inch deep and I only needed one! to fill the plate. They are very cheap here at present ,must be a glut, but I dont mind when they only cost about $1 50 bx, Was very tasty too.
Well it is quite a time since I have been here, and when I look at all the other blogs I am interested in I find everyone has been busily going along doing great things.
There have been some very sad things too and when I read all the heart wrenching things that happen to people , I thank God for my every day, and say a little pray for everyone else
I am so blessed to be able to do all I do and I try to give back in some way .
I have friends that need a bit of comfort and an ear to whisper in, and others that just need to be around some one, so I am there for them.
I have a great insight into people and maybe should have been a claivoyant, as can sometimes tell what some one is thinking or meaning without words.
Anyway my friends say I am a good listener, not that that means I am not a good talker, can have a good as yap as anybody, but I am not a gossip, and things never go past me. so I think that is a good trait.
I have a lovely daughter, one of 3 lovely daughters, who is a Clinical Hypnotherapist, and Councellor, and I know she has great insight into peoples needs too, and has great compassion for people. BTW She is Julia Verdigrisrose in my Creative Others links at the right hand side here.
Wow where did that all come from today.
Well what have I been doing?
Too many things, I bought some new curtains unexpectedly.
Came just out of the blue, went shopping for something else and came home with curtains instead. do you ever do that?I loved the ones I had but knew that someday I would like to change them to lighter c0lour , the colour of the walls in my lounge which would make the room look bigger and it sure does.
And I saved $60 at the sale so I think that was the motivation for them.
Anyway I am so happy about them.
Have yet to have many visitors to see what they think, but tomorrow my group comes for the polymer clay tuition so may get some comments then.
Am working hard to tut my students in polyclay and they are doing some nice work, so I must be doing something right!!
They will all be better than the teacher very soon. But isnt that what it is all about when teaching people things.
To see them take it all run with it and improve out of site from that first baby steps at the start.
I just love how that happens. I think I did really miss my calling and should have been a trained teacher, that would have been something, so I think I am lucky that I can now indulge my self by being a volunteer teacher of nice things. (Funny thing I had an older Bro and Sis who trained as teachers,) I think at the time they didnt think 0f me as one, but I know now that is what I like to do and as I say to my students who say I am a good teacher, I teach how I would like to be taught as to be able to understand, so as I said I must be doing something right .!!
Well I guess I have to go till next time I can find the time to be here , so until then take care and Find happiness

Hi all

Here it is our First day of Spring in Australia, in the Southern Hemisphere, 1st of September to us, so I could not let the day go past. Maybe in the Northern Hemisphere we may seem upside down to you.

But like anywhere we all enjoy our seasons. cold or hot, I love all the changes as they come with all the different things we do.

Our Spring, a wonderful new time coming after a great past Winter, which was very mild here, the plants even start to come out early, as they cant make up their minds whether it is really their time when it seems so warm. I think, they think they had better wake up and catch up even tho we know it is really still Winter, it is confusing to see Spring plants out so early,but at last it is here for us.

We can put away the doonas and the wooly sox. Hurrah. I am in shorts and light blouse today.

This is a picture taken on Sunday 30th Aug, of my friend Chris and I , ,when we went to a Healing Expo in a beautiful garden setting, note the beautiful flowering trees in our picture, as you can see, the stalls were all set around this beautiful garden

The sun was shining and it was so warm. We had a lovely peaceful day , giving thanks to the Universe for our fortunate lives.

That day in the garden has set me up for the rest of the Spring , I'll remember how lovely it was to be there.

Spring will enhance the Butterflies,with it's warmth, so that new things will be found in my world and theirs.

Hi again, Well I am having a great day of catching up. Wonder when I will get this much time again, but as you see by the pictures I have done some things lately.The first picture is of some ATCs that I have just sent off to a group in U.S A,. They are done with polymer clay objects on them.First one is of course Butterflies , and next is hearts.The theme was self, and as Polymer clay as you know is a fav with me and colour and Butterflies I did these. My base card is painted with 2 colour s of acrylics and sprinkled with embossing powder and heat gunned for texture. So there are the things I love Polymer clay, Colour and Texture. So I do hope the recipients love them as much as I do. I love doing these cards. The middle picture is of a small dolly dress hand towel I have just done for a friends B/day.It is a hand towel halved and gathered and sewn in to appear like a skirt. It has velcro tabs to hook over your oven handle and does look cute, as my friend has a red kitchen, hence the red dress. Hope you like it. I am going to do some in Xmas towelling for gifts too.

Well today I have had such a great time, altho very consuming, Finding new things at other blogs. I have found five new blogs to follow along with.There are some amazing beautiful things that people do on their blogs, and they are there to see and follow. I guess most people know that, but I am still blown away by all the marvellous things I see here.So take a look and enjoy.

Hi all again at last I am back here

Oh what a long time it seems, a month at least.

Naughty me

So much has happenened and I have been and done so much, just can't keep up.

The picture above is from where I probably left off my blog.

We had a Xmas in July party with our Red Hat ladies group.

What a marvellous day it was .

We are still talking about it.

It was the best one I had been to , considering I had never been to one before LOL.

But it was so good.

It was a Sunday morning when

we started off at our Convenors home. for morning tea, the left hand picture, some of the ladies.

We all went by cars up to our closest valley called the Eungella valley which is some miles out of town and passes thru a lot of small rural places, and rises up to the rainforest, but the going up part is called the valley.

However we stopped along the way in one small place that has a great Op shop where you can delve for ages and find all sorts of pre loved articles at good prices. Needless to say we all came away with booty.

I bought another Red hat !! and a lovely small handbag for a friends B/day, and a few small articles that took my fantasy.We arrived at the Gallery where the lunch was to be held and as you can see it was really set up for a Xmas celebration. The middle picture.

I have heard that some people dont think much of having Xmas in July as it may take away the usual meaning of Xmas. but where we live, it is an occasion as our Xmases are so HOT and it does seem not quite right to be having all that heavy Xmas food in the hot weather.

Most Australian these days opt for Salads and colds so its not too bad.

Anyway we had fun and that is what our Red Hatters are about.

I have met some lovely ladies with it too and that is what it is about.

Just last week I met 10 new people in one week.

I thought how amazing.

I was standing at the Checkout getting my groceries assembled when a man talked to me.

He was standing there with his wife and a friend.

Well they offered to take me home.

Must have looked like the typical old lady struggling along, altho I dont ever feel like that.

I travel by bus , so when he asked me where I lived and said a pity we go the other way, well I thanked him for the thought, they deciced to take me home anyway.

How lovely of them. I do manage well but it was a kind thought. Dont worry I looked hard at them to be sure! Pity you have to think like that these days isn't it?

So there are always more good people in this world than bad, so my faith in people is always as I think it is. Still good!!

The others I have met were at a little Art group who meet at a small cafe have lunch and do their things . One was doing Prudence Mapstone crochet knitting , one was embroidering a vest so lovely , patch work inside and wool handembroidery on the outside, and another was doing basket making and on the wall was the paintings of another gal who wasnt there but that is what it was all about paintings and craft on the walls.

I might get a picture of it some time.

I took my cloth dolls and my polymer clay to demonstrate and of course people who have not seen it are amazed what you can do with it. So now I am going to another Art group to show them and possibly get some more people interested in Polymer clay.

Apart from that, after the Xmas in July day, I went away on the plane to see my D Jacqui and family and had a ball for about 10 days down there, saw some friends that I do polymer clay with, down that way, and came home to teaching a new person some basics in polymer clay which we are back into next week.

So the right hand picture here is of some of the ladies enjoying or day out.

Whacko for next year I'll be there weather and health permitting.

Hi all
Here is my big Surprise from my last post. Wasn't really a secret, but an exciting little thought that something nice was about to happen and it did!!
I have just recently received my Give away prize that I won on Marie Segals Blog.
I cant thank you enough Marie, everyone who has seen it has been really impressed, and I know I will treasure it with a special place in my heart for it .
Marie called it her Bella Necklace, and I entered her Giveaway Comp, thinking of my G/G who is Isabella, and is a sweet 20 mnths old. This necklace is sweet and pretty like our Isabella who is a little person to be taken notice of just like my new necklace is whenever I wear it. So it was a very appropriate gift for me to receive.
I can think of Marie and Isabella as well.
This necklace is made of Cernit a much harder clay than I am able to use and I certainly note the difference, and think how durable it will be for a long time
A great thing about this Giveaway is that I have been Finding new things in other people's blogs and I marvel at how far I have come since I started blogging.
There are so many places to go , that one thing leads to another, and when you start looking at all the other blogs that are attached to your follower's blogs I feel it makes the world very small, and we all become known to each other by this.
I still get real pleasure knowing that other bloggers come in to my blog here and leave such nice messages.Fancy that, I now have so many follower's which I had none of when I started
As they say like begets like, we want to be around positive people like ourselves and isn't that just so right.
It makes for a very happy day.
I had a very happy day today.
Every year our city, Mackay,Qld Australia, has a Festival of the Arts for 2 wks, Well it is on now, there are displays everywhere and entertainment and street things and today I went to an Art space where people were asked to take part and take their art work of any kind along and so I took some of my cloth dolls and jewelry for display.
A lovely Japanese girl was the resident artist and was so sweet .
The place was just done out like a cave with the ceilings and walls covered with colourful fibres and art work and and so much crafty things from paper mache masks to big colourful rosettes, and children's art, it made you feel so happy just to be there,it was a place where everyones art or craft was appreciated. I did not know any of them but they just accepted you as you are, which I do when I meet people, so I was really happy there, and it was really out of the blue for me to do that, but I knew it was the right place to be. When I go back I will try to get a few photos to put in here.
It really was Soaring with the Butterflies as it was a new experience for me but was such a happy one, that I have been smiling all day since.
So look outwards and do something new that you think you never would have thought of, it might be just what you should be doing.

Hi all at last I have arrived here on my blog.

I am longwinded about this my next instalment,

as so many things happen in a month, that time just flies, and you can't always get here to do what you want..

The photos here are of a lovely trip I and a friend took to this very upmarket Island in the Whitsundays.

Hayman Island, it is a 55minute boat ride out on a beautiful Catamaran like boat, with a great boat crew who really look after you, serving refreshments and all types of drinks from Alchohol to Tea Coffe and food. I had tomato juice Really spoilt.

Our trip was only overnight but had two nights away from home getting there as it is 2hours away from where I live to the outgoing port called Shute Harbour, which is where all the boats go to all the Islands. Near The Great Barrier Reef in Queensland..

The photo of the pool area is of what you see from the balcony of your room, so enchantingly beautiful with the pool area built out over the sea.

The rooms which are really high class are on the left of the picture all around the pool area.

We went to a 5 course Black Tie dinner at the night and it was an Awards night for some budding chefs . We were allowed to go into the kitchen where the judging was held in the afternoon, and taste the products after the judges had done with them. Amazing and fascinating and very spoilt.

I did learn a few new things, to add to my cooking culinary skills, LOL.

A wonderful experience that I was lucky to be able to do, and one I didn't hesitate from, as it was a bit excy, but well worth every penny spent there. So much pampering and relaxation, don't think I'll ever be the same again.

Haven't been to the Islands for some years so it was good to go and think I still could enjoy it all.

It is all world class,and so, what has Hawaii got we haven't , I have been there too.

Apart from all this indulgence I have been working at my lovely crafts, namely the Polymer clay

This is my latest Polymer clay effort which is based on Mokume Gane.
My interpretation anyway.Enlarge to see.
This is what I have ben teaching my students this week , plus stringing it all.Its very nice to wear and isnt as heavy as it looks as polyclayists would know.
Soon I will be ableto put some of the students work in as they are doing very well and are as enthusiastic as I am.

Hi all my blogger friends.I am thinking how great to be able to sit here and write and think of all the nice people I have met through this blog.

Lets sit down and have a coffee together. The pic is of a Unicorn I made incorporating Cloth and air dry Poly clay, I love this medium.

Marie, am so glad you are back and have had such a great time at your Retreat. I would have loved to have been there but being on the other side of the world a bit out of my reach, so thank you for the great tutorial on Lapis Luzuli,using Alcohol inks. a fav topic of mine and somethimg I must get into and do more of.

I am like this too, love to show people How To , that is why I have 2 other groups besides my Cloth doll group where I love to pass on my knowledge. Why not while I'm still around. LOL Of course it works both ways , I learn new things from my cohorts too LOL.

Mmm, maybe there is a secret plot there so I can learn too.

I have of course been to plenty of workshops and Retreats and when I was doing them wasn't sure why I was so driven to go , but looking back I see the wealth of knowledge I have accumulated and I thank the Universe and of course my great teachers, for that.

Wow when I actually start thinking about this I see what an extensive library I have gathered on a lot of subjects.

The greatest thing about all my books is that I can pick any of them up anytime and read them through and still enjoy them, and sometimes even see more than I saw in them the first time.

I'm sure most craft minded gals like me have great collections, and feel the same way.

I am really book mad as I have found out over the years of crafting so thanks to all those wonderful people who go to the trouble of sharing their knowledge so we can all enjoy our Fav subjects with not much expense, what did I just say!!.

I dare not count it up as I can see where my( millions )LOL have gone. But have been happy and have I met so many lovely people and I have been able to pass on my accumulated knowledge.

So I wouldn't change anything. Would you!!

These are the latest ATC'S that I have made and sent to a swap group in America. the theme was Kitchen.

I thought this would be easy but found myself scratching my head even more than for the Mandalas which I did not even know anything about. so I made up a poem as I like words on this sort of thing,and the inspiration just seemed to come.

The point of this is Never say Never, it is always there.

My little poem maybe hard

Sometimes I lose them

New ones are found.

Pots and pans galore

To make biscuits light hands.

Coffee always on

Tea is always there too.

Jam on a scone for you.

Knead the dough makes the bread.

Keeps everyone well fed.

Well I guess it may not impress the Creative writers but it sure helped to get through a sticky patch.

So whenever you feel like there's nothing forthcoming, try a poem no matter how silly.

Something will come to you.

Words are a great outlet for Finding New things.

Looking in other blogs help one to realise how many wonderfully positve people there are in the world.

I prefer to think there are more of us Possies (my make up word) than others and I wish that everyone who is a neggie would try to find one little bit of positiveness in their day, they would feel so much better. Just look at the day, we are having a grey and rainy day for the 1st day of Winter, but there are so many things you can do on a Winters day, even just to stay in doors and snuggle up in a blanket is a plus.

Just getting out in the fresh air on a grey day is nice too.

Remember the Beatles

All the leaves are brown ( I think they said)

But they still found the positves in a Wintersday.

Hope Im right here.

But I'll say I am to myself.

Hi , this is a happy photo of the outing we had as the Red Hat ladies this last Sunday.
The man in the middle helped himself to us bunch of beauties so impressed was he with the colour. Not usually for the guys is our Red Hat day.
The funny point of this was, we were suppose to be having lunch at a place called Angelos on the Marina here in Mackay. We did not book and found we couldnt go there so went somewhere else near, even nicer.
So when this man came along and wanted a photo with all of us , we named him Angelo.
The joke of the avo was, "at least we didnt have to eat olives" as Angelos is an Italian Resturant.
A lovely day and real fun.
I am the one in all purple on the right of the picture., but you may know that.

1st of June today, our first day of Winter in the Southern Hemisphere. and of course the first day of Summer in the Northern Hemisphere.
So a time to Find New Things that these few months bring us.

I have been berating myself for not coming into my blog and doing more with it.
while looking around at other blogs which I find takes me all over the world, I find so many new things that I get left behind in the wonder of it all.
I just dont do what I am suppose to be doing . Writing my own blog.
I see other bloggers may have the same affliction so dont feel so bad.
Here I am at last today to catch up and to show youthat I have been working.
I have made this cute symbolic type necklace from a design by Maria Teresa Stoa a lady from New Mexico.
From and article she had in the magazine Salon, from America, which a friend showed me.
The colour was so inviting I just had to make it, and am so pleased with it it. Here it is
I also made some of the beads while working with my polyclay.
I also have been doing ATC's to swap in America.
Here are some of my latest efforts with the Kitchen as the theme.
So you see all is not lost behind the scenes I am working away like a little beaver with creative things going round and round in my head.
Just like all the other creative Bloggers who like me dont get in here too often but sometimes have to give in to get some work done.

Positiveness Inspired.

Today is another lovely day in Autumn, even tho the sky is not its usual blue and a shower has just passed over,it is refreshingly nice, after a very hot and humid Summer.
Every season has its glories don't you think.
Autumn, mm, Fall, to my new friends.
In comments , on this page I have come across some nice new friends, who have already inspired me in many ways.
How wonderful the art of blogging is.
It brings positiveness to the whole world, or to those who want see life that way.
What a pity we all cant see the positiveness there is in everything in life.
How much happier people could be by leaving those negative thoughts and deeds behind.
Like I say,
Soar to your greatest potential.
You have the right to be that great person who is inside all of us.
Who has heard people say
"You are so clever, I cant do that"
Well ,cant is not in my vocabulary
Of course you can.
It is there in all of us, I see it in myself everyday, when I want to do something new.
I try, even tho I have no concept of what it is I am suppose to be doing LOL
Hence my attempt at Mandalas but even if I don't exactly "Get It"
I have already learnt so much just by trying, and it is within my
Finding new things. concept.
So be enlightened and find yourself within yourself, you will find the positiveness of life and
Soar, to heights you could never have imagined yourself doing.
Great things will come of it and even if you just have a nice day trying,
thats all we can ask for.
Except to do only as well as you can.
Everyone is different and unique and we all bring something to this world.
Make it as positive as only you can and you will be inspired.

Well its the 1st May today, at least here on this side of the world.
That means a lot of different things to different people all over the world.
The first day of Spring and the first day of Autumn elsewhere and May Day to some.
Today is another beautiful day which ever it is, and I am so glad I am able to be here reaching out and meeting new people and

all around me.
This week in researching those Mandalas, I have already met a new friend.
Last one was Marie Segal and now its Victoria Oneil, A lovely lady who knows all about those pesky Mandalas which are such a head scratching exercise for me, and she even has a great tut on her blog, so go to my Creative Others, friends on this blog and you ll be able to learn about them too.
Sometimes I wonder how we all fit all the things into the time we have , but like they say "Ask a busy person" if you want something done.

What a beautiful day this is
the sun is shining and I am at peace with the world.
I found a new friend Marie, among my Finding New things.
How lovely I will soon get her space on my blog.
Marie Segal .
Marie is one of the most respected Polyclayist with such beautiful work to die for.
I hope to have heaps of fun with Marie, you can too.
Thanks Marie for your message about my recent ATCs .
I have yet to hear back or receive a swap, but know they got there ok, so we are all excited.

What a small world it is, when my art such as it is, can be given to others on the other side of the world, mind blowing I say.
I have also joined Polymer Productions and that is where I met Marie and will no doubt meet others there to.
Today I am at play this compting takes up a lot of time.
But my Butterflies are always there
hovering and bringing me good vibes.

Finding New Things

Hi all

Here I am at last.
It is over a month since I have been in here.
Don't know why.
A number of things have taken me away from here I was enjoying doing this , but came to a full stop. My Mandala Swap ATC's 4 cards and envelopes.
Of course I have still been Finding New things all the time.
Everyday brings a new horizon to go to .
There are so many other nice blogs to go to and I have joined two new groups .
Hopefully to further my education in art and craft.
I have also joined a site by Cindy Leitz and can now access her tutorial videos, great, am learning a lot there.
The two other groups are Creative souls for the Mandala swap, and Millandes Creative Community to learn how to with Mandalas. those ladies certainly know how to , so much there and so nice to be able to go there and meet new and ver talented people.
I also learnt about Mandalas wow they've been around for thousands of year but I had never even heard the word.
So I joined a group to swap them as ATCS. Well it is like following a cause blindly as I had no idea where to start.
I was pleased with my efforts but know that the most patient Tibetan monk would have to smile.
Well I have sent them off and will get some back so hope whoever gets mine will be happy as they are pretty if not just the right kind of thing.
But there you go, it comes under the category of Finding New Things, to me anyway.
Well I hope anyone who comes my way is still

Brunos Art

Today I received word about a place in Marysville that was amidst the horrifying fires in Melbourne in Febuary.
I knew of it and had such admiration for the wonderful

Sculptures and Art of BrunoTorf.

If you have ever been there you will know what I mean.
We cannot imagine the traumas that those people in those areas faced at that time and are still facing.
It is good to know that they will be rebuilding the beautiful gardens and sculptures of
Bruno's Art.
It will take time and money but they will come back with an even more beautiful place I know.
From time to time I will go there and
Find the new things
they will be doing to bring back the wonderful place they had there.

Hi all,

This is the latest Austalian Beading Magazine With

Melanie Dilday from Clay happenings see Creative Others work on the cover a great acheivment.
Havent been in for awhile, busy doing other things.
Went to Townsville to look after my sister.
As always Finding new things .
When you wake up to a new day , there is always something new to find.
Today I found old friends I did a Polymer clay workshop with in Canberra a few years ago. Lovely to see they have progressed so much and are still enjoying their chosen craft.

Well sitting here I needed some inspiration to start my post for today.

My passion is of course Cloth Dolls and Polymer clay, so don't know which to talk about first.
I found this lovely site sent to me by an email friend to add to my list, but it came out right here, so take a look at :

if you are inclined like me to want to be into lots of things in these arts.

Sarajane Helm is a great example of a mixed media artist there are so many places to go on her site that of course I am into my hobby of Finding New Things.

So I have the best of everything here.
I love the fact that when on a site I can go to other links that others have found and put in it makes it so much easier.
I can stay on a site and daydream and float away into all the beautiful things I find there.
Of course the one drawback is that I am more here, than doing my own work at present, so must find some way to get a happy medium for both.
I'll be like the butterflies I see out of my window.
They alight on a place soak up all the beauty , then fly off to who knows where, to perhaps alight some place else and distribute their own kind of beauty for others to see.

Ah that is my inspiration for today.

Yes I have found all these new things to crowd my mind and now must go off to put my own kind of dreams on what I have seen.

Today I found a great site . Wild Art Dolls. It is now in my Fav Sites.
I do belong to a Yahoo Group called, Wild Art dolls.
These sort of dolls are just what they sound like.
Wild Art, but really are very imaginitive type dolls.
Not what one would pickup and cuddle or hug.
But one that would have captured the imagination of someone who sees something artistic in a few (found things ) or just materials and paints you have in your stash. Have a look and try it sometime. This one on the right is from Lisa Poole of Grooggy Froogy. hope you dont mind Lisa .

Look to the end of my blog for some nice art work by Joan Miro.
I love the abstractness and colour here.

Also have a great site on Fairy Doll wings Tutorials.
See, every time I come into my computer I find new things to stimulate and soar my brain with new and exciting ideas. The butterflies are working well.
The only thing is, when to find the time to do them all.

Note very barren now.Also note the new Air con in right hand corner, was under window before,

but the water came right thru it.

they decide all the trees needed to come out at this time.

I think they were vandals as the trees didnt interfere with the flood.

But I guess it will all grow back one day.when I plant some nice things.

Hi ,
As you can see if you have been here before I have changed the face of my Blog.

Well it is a bit bright and busy but I am attempting to dull it down a bit,but I love the butterflies.

The picture above is of some Butterfly metal plaques I have on my lounge room wall.they are 3D and are cut out and sit off the metal like 3D.

Butterflies are great, they soar and can go anywhere and are a symbol of friendship,at least that is what I think.So think butterflies when you want to soar away with your dreams, and go anywhere you please and reach out to make new friends.

As that is what a blog is, dreaming and making new friends. So come in and leave me a message on my highly bright new blog.There are all sorts of symbolism about butterflies but I prefer to think of the nice symbols for me.

Click on the box in the top lefthand corner , it takes you to the Cutsy site where I found my new colourful page background.There are so many there I am sure you will find one you like.
So like my header here, "Finding new things" is an everyday pastime whether you are here, or in the outdoors, or anywhere, soaring off in your dreams, . There is always something new everyday to be glad about even the smallest thing, so be happy and take each day as it comes and

Well once again I found something new.
A blog is a marvellous thing isnt it.

Click on one called Groggy Froggy.
I found a blog from a gal in N.Z. Called KiwiStiching.
This blog shows where I came from.
Mentions the Chocolate shop we all went to, Yummy!! Shows Pics of Napier. and Hawkes Bay.
Will be going to this blogsite in future.

I have been looking around and came across this wonderful guy, Ari Faber.
Dont know much about him, but found some great Polymer clay tutorials on his site.
Look it up under my Creative Others Album. Particularly Jan 10th 2006.
Dont know where he's gone, or if he still is around but he sure can do a good tut.
